Very premium. Has an outdoor swimming pool which is great for hot summer days, and wide pedestrian walkways perfect for strollers.
The underground train ride through the streets named after wines is a hit with kids. Note: Underground tunnels are cold (12°C/54°F), bring warm sweaters for kids!
Outstanding scenery. Kids will love feeding the swans in the lake and playing on the wooden playground. Long drive (1.5 hrs), best combined with a trip back from Cahul.

💡 Parenting Travel Tips for Moldova
- Road Travel Strategy: Drive during nap times. Chisinau to Cahul takes ~2.5 hours. Make sure to have plenty of snacks and downloaded offline music or stories.
- Lake Beleu Pelicans: Located near Cahul. If you take a boat ride, ask local guides for a canopy-shaded boat, and ensure they have child-sized life vests (or bring your own!).
- Supermarkets: Supermarkets like Linella or Nr. 1 have standard European diapers (Pampers, Huggies), formula, and baby pouches. No need to pack 3 weeks of diapers.
- Medical: Keep standard pediatric fever reducers (Nurofen, Panadol) on hand. Chisinau has excellent private medical clinics (e.g., Medpark) with English-speaking doctors.
